Giveaway | Jacksonville Elopement Photography

I loooove weddings. Love them. It’s a great event celebrating two people joining their lives together and of course, celebrating the love they share. I love the sweet words during the ceremony, the fabulous decorations and details, and of course, the awesome party that lasts well into the night. But the thing I love the most? The couple themselves – head over heels for one another. Which is one of the many reasons why I’ve always been intrigued by elopements.

If you’re thinking of skipping a big wedding day and planning an intimate elopement with your true love, and would love to have me there to photograph this special time in your lives, enter to win my elopement photography giveaway contest!

Military homecomings are a pretty regular thing in Jacksonville. Some are quite small and some are quite large spanning several days. The 24th MEU is one of the ones that spans several days. It has many different units and ships coming home around the same time. Some of them come home on buses from the port, and some get to come home on Osprey’s and helicopters. This particular homecoming of the 24th MEU was a wingside one in which they get to come home by flying in.

Meet the Medina family. They have been waiting for this day for over seven months. The boys are so excited to see their daddy! The Osprey’s and helicopters are just a bonus!

And here they come, almost HOME!

It has been a long almost eight months for the Rineer’s. Jessica has been missing her husband and Brody has been missing his daddy. I am sure Will missed them both just as much.Where has Brody’s daddy been? Well, he is an active duty Marine and has been on deployment with the 24th MEU. On this day though something special is gonna happen, Will and Brody will get to meet for the first time in person.

The day started off a little rough as Will’s homecoming date got pushed up two days early! It was hot and muggy, and we waited as patiently as possible inside and outside for the van to pull up.

And the moment he arrives is so bittersweet. They are finally together again and Brody gets to meet his daddy!

Will FINALLY gets to hold Brody, after almost eight months! It is nothing but smiles and talking from Brody to his daddy.

I am so glad I get to be their Jacksonville Homecoming Photographer. Moment’s like these are so amazing not only to them but to us as photographers. I am pretty sure had I not been 100% focused, that I might not have been able to see through my viewfinder.

Hello All,

I am so excited and honored to present  you with Eric & Heather’s wedding at Southport Community Center, in Southport North Carolina. Eric & Heather met online and have been together for three and a half years and he proposed to her at the surprise birthday party for her that he planned. The details were classic and the venue simple, but beautiful. The Southport Community Center sits right on the water in the quaint little town. The water made for a gorgeous backdrop for the ceremony.

Heather got ready at her parents house, and Eric got ready at a hotel right down the road. Both were surrounded by their family which made up the bridal party, and also made everything very entertaining. Everyone was having fun from the very beginning.

Just look at that smile. The first time Eric gets to see his beautiful bride. They didn’t see or talk to each other the day of their wedding and Heather said it, “Makes the moment you see one another for first time breath taking!”

After the ceremony Eric & Heather marched back down the isle to the Brady Bunch theme song. They became a family of eight when they tied the knot.

The ladies were beautiful and the men handsome. Have I mentioned how much fun everyone was!! I can’t remember a time that everyone wasn’t smiling and laughing.

We did Heather’s bridal portraits in Southport as well. It is such a beautiful place for Southport wedding photography. Heather got her dress from Beautiful Brides of Wilmington. This is what she had to say about her dress, “It was a simple elegant dress. I thought I wanted big but after trying on many, when I put this one on I knew! It fit with my vision of what I wanted our wedding to be.”

There are so many beautiful locations in Southport for Southport Wedding Photography. As you can see we went to several of its locations. I wish you all could have been there to join in the excitement and the joy of Eric & Heather’s big day.

Bonjour, EVERYONE!

I am honored and excited to announce Ashley & Jason’s wedding at Mike’s Farm in Beulaville, North Carolina. These two have been together for about six years. They met at a church they both attended and Jason played guitar in the praise and worship band. Six years later they were both on their career paths and Jason popped the question.

“He took me to the Duke Gardens and pre-planned to get me to a certain bridge in the gardens. The bridge was red and in a beautiful location. After we found the bridge, Jason took out a piece of paper and said that he wrote me a note and that he wanted too read it to me. I was a little confused but told him to go ahead. After reading the thoughtful note, he told me to close my eyes. He then told me to open them and he was on his knee with a ring in his hand. He asked me to marry him and I said yes. He then put the ring on the wrong hand, but we got it figured out. After standing and hugging a couple that had seen the whole thing started to clap for us.”

The details of the wedding were simple, creative, and beautiful. Don’t you just love the cake topper, I know I do. Ashley was a stunning bride. Here is what she had to say about picking out her dress that she got from David’s Bridal.

“I tried on about 10 or 15 dresses in just one day. I finally tried on the one that I picked and couldn’t find anything wrong with it. I loved the way it looked. I immediately had buyers remorse because I felt like I hadn’t seen enough options, but I am glad I stuck with that one because it was perfect and I can’t imagine having a different dress.”

beulaville wedding photography_0002beulaville wedding photography_0003

Then comes the wedding day, nature was on our side and the weather was perfect. Everything started right on time and Ashley began her last walk as a single lady and her father gave her away. And then begins the story of two families becoming one begins.

So Ashley and Jason did a different type of union ceremony. Most people do sand, candles, or others as their union ceremony. Jason is a police officer so they did a hand cuffing ceremony, which I thought was awesome to incorporate an already important part of their lives. Take a close look and you will see the handcuffs!!

As we move on to the formals and the reception let me tell you about the wedding party. They were a hoot, we had so much fun not only during formals but into the reception all the way until the very end. I wanted to share some of the faces they made during the fun formals, but figured I should use the ones where they looked their best.

It was a complete honor and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you both.
